Steps To Building Your Bed
The first thing you’ll want to do before getting started is to determine what size mattress you will be working with. You wouldn’t want to use bed frame plans to build a bed only to find that your mattress does not sit on it properly.
After this, you’ll want to measure out your doorways and hallways. Wouldn’t it be sad if you built your bed in your workshop only to find that you could not get it into your bedroom afterwards?
This does not mean that you can’t build the bed in your workshop, but you may want to hold off on putting all of it together until you get it into the room you’ll be using it in.
Another option would be to use screws or bolts instead of nails so that you know you’ll be able to take the bed apart if necessary. Just take your platform bed plans that use nails and add in a comparable screw.

The only downside to Ted’s plans are that you get A LOT of plans. There is way more to it than just platform bed plans and you’ll find that you’ll get distracted by many other great ideas while your looking through his materials.
However, as long as you stay focused you should be able to find a great set of platform bed plans to complete before moving onto some of his other great projects.
